Pretty weird thats what I think since Kobe is what keeps the lakers a good team, the good side is that laker fans can finally shut up about how Kobe is better than michael joran.

  1. Who knows.

When Kobe retires, Im focusing on D-Wade's game. He has so many skills that ressemble to Kobe's.

The only thing Kobe doesn't have that D-Wade has, are the Turnovers.

  2. I could see the flip side.  Lakers fans may actually appreciate Kobe more than they already do, even more if they suck without him.

  3. 2 words: They're screwed

  4. Build the team around young Bynum.. Kobe has around 8 years or so left in him so when he retires Bynum is in his prime.

  5. They will regret trading javaris crittenton

  6. I don't know who Michael Joran is, but I suspect Kobe can take him. As for as Michael Jordan is concerned, let's see...Kobe Bryant in the prime of his career, in excellent shape year round. Michael Jordan in his mid-40s, heavy smoker, drinker...yeah, I think Kobe could take him too.

Of course, none of this answers your question. Assuming Kobe leaves, subtract his salary, along with that of Lamar Odom, Trevor Ariza, Jordan Farmar, et al and you have approximately $25M in cap space with which to "recruit" free agents. No one LA signs is equal to KB24 admittedly, but you get the point don't you. Oh, guess not. Lakers franchise has been good for decades, not years. Great players go, great players replace them.

This is what happens when the Lakers lose Kobe, whether via opt out or eventual retirement.

  7. LA fans wont be so happy at all

Spurs will kick all of their *** and others in west and getting 5 title for Texas as well a title for west

  8. i'll be happy when that happens

  9. It will be the inevitable day where all h**l breaks loose in Los Angeles. Lakers without Bryant? They'll have to rebuild the entire team, because it's been based on a multi-talented freak (in a good way) which nobody else can fill the shoes of.

  10. a drought that lasts a few years. then they'll draft somebody who will bring a new hope!!!

  11. it'll make them better

  12. First off Kobe as a person is the rear end of a horse, but as a basketball player he can get away with traveling like the best ie. Michael Jordan, which in my opinion, and this is just an opinion, has ruined the game of fundamental basketball.  It has turned into a showboating, Harlem Globe trotters VIP-fest.  I have been a Lakers fan since the early 80's and never have jumped off the band wagon or on, and man let me tell you those were the days of great basketball.  I belive the term is "Showtime".  Can anyone say Celtics vs Lakers.  d**n that was great stuff Triple overtimes, high scoring games.

I digress, the point is, is that the Lakers without Kobe in the last playoffs played fantastic (although they lossed big time)  Kobe failed miserably, when it was up to him, thus chugging.  When he was on the bench, the team held their own.  I am not saying that they will be great, but they will easily do better then most the teams out there.

  13. They would be just like the Rockets now!!Never getting out of the first round!!

  14. crumble

hes like the pole, u no?

  15. Im a laker fan and never said he was better than MJ,, Also if he leaves the lakers, they will suck and the team with kobe will win,, and 2nd why just because he leaves that will shut up SOME of the fans that sya hes better than MJ,, They will still say that no matter what team hes on

  16. I guess they would have to build the team around Trevor Ariza

  17. The Lakers fans will jump on the bandwagon whos the best team in the NBA.

  18. kobe is better than michael joran (my plumber)... but not better than michael jordan (NBA LEGEND).

i'm a laker fan and if you know anything about the lakers you know that the franchise goes through very, very small droughts of losing seasons. it's not a fluke. so if kobe left or when he leaves i really don't think the lakers will turn into the hawks or the clippers all of the sudden. we'll lose for a season or so but the franchise and management always puts together a good team.

again as a basketball and laker fan... kobe is not better than jordan.

  19. Funny how u guys always reckon the future, or thinking of the past, yet sometimes the present. Lakers wouldn't be as good, but they wouldn't suck. Kobe still has 8 good years in his back, so I am  not worrying about that.

  20. they can probably still win games but not as good

without kobe it would have to be gasol and odom

  21. They could sign a nice free agent...when his 22 million a year contract is gone...

  22. I hate the Lakers franchise and most of it is because of how arrogant and overrated Kobe Bryant is. Dont get me wrong he ia a very good player and would be one until he retires. But, no way is he the best in the NBA. Otherwise, they would have won the NBA Finals. What I dont get is why do people think the Lakers would suck w/o Kobe. If the Bulls-Lakers trade happened why dont you guys think both teams would have benefited.

Kobe Bryant for Ben Gordon & Luol Deng. Also this would have had an impact in getting Gasol cause w/o Kobe Lakers need a star and Kwame and J. Critt for Pau would have happened. The Cle-Chi trade would have been possible to cause no way can Chicago afford Kobe and Ben Wallace.

This would be both teams lineups tell me why the Lakers would suck:

PG. Derek Fisher - 11.7 PPG

SG. Ben Gordon - 18.6 PPG

SF. Lamar Odom - 14.2 PPG; 10.6 RPG

PF. Pau Gasol - 18.9 PPG; 8.4 RPG

    C. Andrew Bynum - 13.1 PPG; 10.2 RPG

    * Starters PPG: 76.5/Starters Best Rbs: 29.2

    6th. Luol Deng - 17 PPG; 6.3 RPG

    7th. Luke Walton - 7.2 PPG

    8th. Jordan Farmar - 9.1 PPG

    9th. Vladimir Radmanovic - 8.4 PPG

    10th. Trevor Ariza - 5.5 PPG

    11th. Sasha Vujacic - 8.8 PPG

    12th. Ira Newble - 3.8 PPG

    * Bench PPG: 59.8

    Total Points PPG: 136.3

Pau took less talented Grizzlies team to playoffs why cant he do it w/ Gordon and Deng w/o Kobe?

  23. The Lakers minus Kobe Keeping all the other pieaces the same, Will be a better team. Not 4 guys and Kobe Bryant any more. A real Team with everyone being a part of the whole! Trust Me Lakers are better off without Kobe!
