What happens when the amazon kindle runs out of space? Do you have to get rid of books or can u back it up?

OK so i am thinking about getting an amazon kindle but first i want to know about its memory. I do not want to buy a bunch of books and then have to delete them because it ran out of space. Can you expand it with some type of memory card or something?

There are several options available.  Items you buy from Amazon can be stored on Amazon, or on your Kindle, your computer or other hard drive or flash drive, or on a standard SD card.

Items you obtain from other sources can be stored at any of those places except Amazon.com.

Yes you can expand your memory with an SD card.  

If you purchase the books from Amazon you can choose to keep them on the Amazon site and download or remove as needed.  Amazon keeps track of what books were purchased on your kindle and will allow you to re-download them to your kindle whenever you want.  

Additionally you can also transfer anything to and from the kindle to a computer using the USB cable that comes in the package.  With this you can transfer books off of your kindle and onto your hard drive for safe storage/backup if you so choose.
