What happens when urine comes into contact with duct tape?

As in; chemically

I know this sounds crazy but a day ago I stepped into a puddle of urine in the bathroom wearing EVA clogs with some duct tape adhesive stuck to them; I did rinse them out and wiped the area away with a towel.

But I didn't notice that my mom put the towel over the bathtub and because of the shower curtain didn't notice that the towel may have been leeching into my bathwater which is nasty since I dropped my body wash there once during taking a shower.

Am I going to be alright?

And the duct tape adhesive was is still under my EVA clog.

  1. Almost certainly "nothing at all".  The pressure-sensitive adhesives used in duct tape are not very reactive - they "stick" because they're soft enough to flow when a little pressure is applied.  (That lets them stick to minute cracks on the surface they're sticking to.)  Urine, of course, is mostly water, with small amounts of urea, minerals and protein:  Also not very reactive.

I would wash the towel, but that's mostly because it's kinda gross to have it dirty with urine like that - it's highly unlikely that there's toxic chemicals leaching out or anything.  Same for your clogs - rinse them off and they'll be fine.  You could probably rub the adhesive off with a little bit of rubbing alcohol on a towel, if you're worried about it, or annoyed by stuff getting stuck to it.
