This is a "friend" of mine. He was on probation for a 2nd DUI and had not reported to probation in over a year. The police came last night and arrested him. What will happen to him? He was not supposed to drink or do drugs and has done both. When the police came, he tried to exit out the window and run away. We live in Michigan. Any help will be appreciated.

  1. He now will have a number of more charges added on to his record.    VOP (violation of probation)    Loosing his licence for 5 years,   fleeing an officer.     He will probably spend the rest of his probabtion in jail and maybe some added for his new charges.     Not a good move.

  2. Your friend violated the conditions of his probation and will now be subject to the punishment the court deems appropriate.  Since he also attempted to elude the police when they attempted to take him into custody he may also face an additional charge of resisting arrest.  He will now most likely be held in jail until his court date, and if he doesn't have an attorney a public defender will be appointed to represent him.  You could contact that attorney for further information in this situation.

  3. you go to jail for a long time!

  4. It is very likely they will revoke his probation, and send him back to jail for the remainder of his probation.

The start time would be determined from the date he missed his first appointment, not from the time he was caught.

He will most likely do some additional time after than for Obstructing, because he tried to jump out a window and escape.

  5. My nephew is serving 5 years for not reporting one time, and he past his drug test, they did it because he missed his probation.I live in the state of Alabama, they put you in jail for things that are crazy. No man should be put in prison for this,he hasn't done any hard crimes, but I can  tell you this he will know more about drugs,s*x,and any thing else, because they take people that have done no hard crimes and throw them in jail with people who have rape, murder, drugs and any other hard crimes, and when they come out it's what happens  to them on the inside that makes them the way they are.
