What are the security measures other than the suicide barriers for preventing such a horrendous act? Is the bridge consitently monitored?

Why do people have to feel so bad to do something like that?

  1. you go down down down and the water gets higher higher higher

  2. I am sure that someone will see you and report it either during the day and even at night but what is there to stop you.....really nothing at all once you climb over the rail, that's it..

Recent programmes have seen the unfortunate introduction of higher railings and side nets to catch the jumpers, which has detracted from the appearance of this wonderful piece of engineering.
