What happens when you don't cover your food in the refrigorator?

I personally have heard it can cause cancer by someone who has cancer but i think those refigerators arn't in use any more-not sure. Well another reason is bcuz it can absorb the smell and even the taste of others food that are in the fridge.....dust or other things can fall into the food when the door is opened or closed etc

Yes teh fridge can carry germs even mold so its important to wash the inside out with a damp cloth and  a safe cleaning solution another good idea is to rinse things like the caps  of milk and juice containers bcuz if someone sneezed the touched the conatiner in that area and put it back then u buy it u could possibly get sick.

strong odors (say from last night's fajitas) will spread to things like butter, milk, water.  

As for germs, if somethings is going bad before or after you put it in the fridge, it can spread from incidental contact via your fingers or a spoon from one item to another or via air circulation if your fridge is above 35 degrees Fahrenheit or so.

It goes off quicker, the food always ha bactria on it, whether you like it or not, but covering the food keeps more cold inside the food's area, environmentally stunting the bacteria.
