  1. You can be held in contempt of court and ordered to pay a pretty hefty fine.

Don't skip out on jury duty, it's so irresponsible to do so.  Fundamental part of the American judicial system and all...

  2. Theoretically, I think a warrant can be issued for your arrest.  I always responded when called...but I know people who just ignored their call and nothing happened.  (?)  Did you ever think that if you were accused of a crime (or suing someone) you couldn't get your trial if there were no jurors?????

  3. In Maricopa County (AZ), you can a visit from Sheriff Joe's boys.  They will have a bench warrant in hand. In Texas, Most times, they will wait until you get pulled over for speeding and then inform you of the warrant.

    My question is:

Why didn't you go to Jury duty?

Are you deployed to Iraq or in the Hospital?

I went a couple of months ago after a 90 day deferment.  The third case that I was in selection for was a check kiting scam, I have fundamental problems dealing with embezzlers and the like, they told me to go home.

  4. I forgot to go to jury duty once, and I called to ask about it. They said it was no big deal if you let them know. If they still need you, they may call you in or if they don't, they can tell you what else to do.

  5. they will put a warrant out for your arrest!!! just call and let them know if you aren't able to go-they've always been really nice about it when i had to call to get out of it.
