What happens when you get refused a visa as a UK resident to get into China? Do you get told the reason?

I'd like to know what the process is should a (tourist) visa application be refused for China as a UK national. Do you get notified why you're refused a visa? Is a stamp put in your passport to show you've been refused? Are appeals likely to succeed? Any info would be gratefully received!

  1. are you an UK resident or citizen? the country that refuses you a visa(tourist) does not need to give you a reason,

but a stamp within your passport that will say # refused # if you have been refused? i would not waste my time nor money to ask for it again,

there are no appeals, just applying again, which? is a waste of time, sorry......

  2. This is actually a simple question.. Were you refused at the window before your passport went inside for processing or was it refused after accepted at the window?  The window agent should explain why it was rejected.

Most often times, rejection means you failed to complete the application properly, you have a criminal record, or you over stayed in China previously.
