What happens when you get the xbox 360 red rings of death?

What exactly does your console do? Does it not start up or does it just not play games?

it indicates a general hardware failure most of the time due to the cheap solder MS used when putting them together. You won't be able to play games or start it up because as soon as you turn it on, the red rings will come up.

Hi

When you get the red rings of death it means normally that you can not turn your Xbox on and get any dashboard.

All it does is flash red lights on the power button and you have to send it in for repair.

my friend got this bassicaly what happens is ussauly wen u turn ure console on four green lights light up as a ring around the power button sometimes at random the console will turn off if u try to turn it back on either 1 red light will show up (a serious but fixable problem) 2 red lights (minor fixable problem) 3 red lights ure console is screwed (non fixable microsoft will ussauly replace it) and four red lights (one of the external cables is disscontectied (very minor home fixable problem) imay be wrong about them tho ure best bet is to search google

it turns it self off, shows three red lights. then everytime u turn it back on it doesnt load anything, it doesnt display a message on ur screen or nuffin, it just goes really quiet and stays on until u turn it off

you cant play it any more. somthing happens in side the xbox like sodar comes off wires or somthing.

when u get the 3 red rings it means that your xbox 360 has heated up too much and that it will no longer power up and u cannot play games on it until it is fixed

call microsoft and explain to them what has happened and they will fix fix it for free if it is still under warranty

It will turn on, but the screen will be black and you won't be able to do anything but notice at how pretty the three flashing red lights look in the dark.
