What happens when you have a gas drive off?

i work at a store today i had a drive off.what is most stores policies on this do i have to pay for it. This very rarly happens where im at. If i have to pay it itll take my whole days pay.

It's illegal for the store/station to make an employee pay for the theft; ie., if the situation is in the us, i don't know where you live.

That is so unfair!! Is that really a policy? I can't see how the store  can make you pay for that. What are you supposed to do, chase after them? I'm pretty sure it's illegal to take it out of your pay. You should call the cops as soon as you see this happening and try to give them the license plate number.
