  2. You win.

  3. You NEVER lose.  According to both BCA and ACS standards, when the 8-ball is made on the break, the shooter has the option of either spotting the ball and taking another shot or getting a new rack and rebreaking.

  4. unless you scratch the cue ball or hit it off the table you win!

    lost some money did ya?

  5. There are many diffierent rules to play by but i've never heard of losing when you make the eight on the break. You either win the game or pull it out and spot it in most rule books.

  6. According to the Billiards Conference of America, in the World Standardization Rules, as of January 2006...

    8-BALL POCKETED ON THE BREAK

If the 8-ball is pocketed on the break, breaker may ask for a re-rack or have the 8-ball spotted and continue shooting. If the breaker scratches while pocketing the 8-ball on the break, the incoming player has the option of a re-rack or having the 8-ball spotted and begin shooting with ball in hand behind the head string.

Some other tournaments and leagues have house rules that say the person is the winner if they sink the 8 ball.  This rule came about from playing in "token" tables, where if you sunk a ball, you couldn't retrieve it without paying more money.  That person would "win", and thusly, the next challenger would pay to have the balls taken out. (i.e. quarter on the table).

Other than people's own personal preference, there are no standardized rules that state that a person who sinks the 8-ball on the break loses.

  7. you win, just like when you are playing nine ball, you hit the nine ball in on the break, you win.

  8. Sometimes you win , sometimes you lose. It depends on which rules you are playing under.

  9. well i play and i win bring on the next one simple life in the fast lane !

  10. If you're playing 8-ball, you automatically win.  If you're playing 9-ball, nothing.

  11. if u sink the 8 on the break you win. all u ppl who are saying you lose are full of c**p and the guy who said pools different in the UK- no its the same, just more people over there no the actual rules. lots of us americans don't no what were talking about (i do tho at least as far as this goes) if u sink the 8 on the break u win. if u sink it between the break and the time its the only ball left THEN u lose. sorry but all u ppl r wrong.

  12. u win.

in pool here in the uk, u win.

    sounds like's it's different elsewhere.

  13. You win.... and the placement of the 8 ball in the center of the rack only makes it that much better!!

  14. rerack or spot the 8 and keep playing

  15. I'm going to copy and paste a portion of one of my previous answers to this question:

"On bar tables, an 8-ball on the break is usually considered a win only because the ball cannot be re-spotted. For professional play, under IPT rules, an 8-ball on the break is also a win. Under BCA rules, the 8-ball on the break is not a win, nor a loss, nor a foul. The breaker may either have a rerack, or spot the 8-ball and continue play from where the balls lie."  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  16. You lose right away. Try to avoid doing that.

  17. you win

  18. if you are playing by the standard rules of the big time tournaments, if you get the 8 ball in on the break, you win the game.

  19. if its on the break...you win....otherwise...you lose unless of course you are on the last ball

  20. It's an automatic win. :)

  21. You say Good Game, who's next!!

  22. It depends on the house rules, we play where if you hit the 8ball in on the 1st break shot, game won to the shooter. You can play either way, small stuff like that is really up to the players if its not a tourny or something.

  23. If you happen to sink the 8-ball on the break, it is an automatic win.

  24. in 8 ball it should be at the center so you should not be able to hit it on the break.

  25. According to international pool tour rules, you win, unless there's a foul, such as scratch on break, in which case you lose.

Some people play it the other way around, though. It's one of the house rules that can change.

  26. You lose.

  27. my pants suddenly get too tight

  28. You lose and maybe start a new game!

  29. You lose, that is why the eight ball is usually placed in the middle of all the balls.
