What happens when you put your truck on AWD on jump on the highway, does it burn the transmission? ?

  1. The AWD option is basically an automatic 4 wheel drive position. If one of your wheels were to slip under acceleration, the 4WD will kick in. It may also kick in during hard acceleration to give you more power to the road and more stability. As long as all 4 of your tires match, there is no problem.

    Never lock your truck into 4WD High or Low unless you are on a loose or slippery surface. It can damage the drivetrain components, or even cause belt separation in one or more tires.


  2. by putting it in awd i assume you mean four wheel drive. if that's the case then as long as you have the transfer case in 4 high it shouldn't cause a problem, (unless your going across the country). it is actually good to drive your truck in 4 wheel drive about every month or so to keep the front differential seals lubricated and keep them from cracking and leaking.
