Question:

What happens when you stop using proactive?

Okay, so, I once tried proactive for like 3 weeks...I found that it worked REALLY well, only thing being that it made my face look shiny - but atleast it was crystal clear. However, when I stopped using it...my face got WORSE than it had ever been. I don't have bad skin at all, just a couple problem areas. I'm thinking of using it again, just on those areas. Or, I'm thinking of using it once a day (like in the AM) and using my regular cleanser at night. Does anyone else do this? Does it still provide great results?

I need some advice! Thanks

  1. That is common with Proactiv; once you start, you can't stop. I haven't tried using it only once a day, but I think you wouldn't get the same results. It is important to use it in the morning to keep it clear for the day, but it is equally important for at night when your sleeping.... I would use it twice a day if I were you.

  2. That's happened to me too! Sometimes when my face has totally cleared up, I use proactive less often and my pimples return... even worse! I have tried using my regular cleanser and alternating between that and proactive but unfortunately for me, it didn't provide as good results as proactive on its own. Proactive also makes my face look shiny! I thought I was using it incorrectly or something...is there any way to combat the shine? Maybe you could try using a well trusted brand at night, but the repairing lotion works its best in the night, so by the morning your pimples are heaps better :)
