  1. you sure do lose the game buddy

  2. yep i think so

  3. If you scratch on the eight ball, you lose.  End of story.  Start racking the balls.

  4. The bottom line here is, if you pocket the 8-ball while committing a foul, it is a loss of game.  Any kind of foul (scratching, double hit, etc.) while pocketing the 8-ball is a loss of game.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  5. In Canada and the States it's a loss.  Period.  Bar rules, league rules, doesn't matter.  It also applies if you sink the eight early (like hitting another ball into it and potting it).

Before beginning a game with someone you've never played before, it's best to run through the "house rules" so every one is on the same page before play begins.

  6. Tech speaking NO ITS a ball in hand foul BCA RULES but just about every Am. league you do inc. bar leagues - If you sink the 8 and scratch its a loss

Most of the rule answers you get here will be BCA but Ck before the game where ever you play saves a lot of misunderstanding

  7. In eight ball, you lose by scratching on the eight, by inadvertently sinking the eight, by making the eight in a pocket other than the one you call, and by not calling the pocket. You can also lose if the eight does not go in "clean". If the cue ball leaves the table when shooting at the eight, you do not lose. Depending on what rules you are playing under, your opponent may place the ball anywhere behind the line, or have ball in hand.

  8. yep, sorry
