What happnes to people who don't want to do army in Turkey?

I have dual citizenship and I am supposed to do my army in Turkey but I am not interested in doing that. I know that I can do a what is called "parali askerlik" but don't have the cash for that either. What happens when I show up in Turkey? Will I be arrested for not having done my army? (I am 40 years old)

yes for sure when you arrived to any airport in turkey in the custom area  you will be arrested automaticly or simply if you need to go to the turkish embassy in your country and you want to renovate your passport the first thing they will ask you is if you have done your millitary service...so the best way is pay as parali askelik other ways you will not be able to enter turkey as a free man....the other day i saw in news that millitary capted a man in a turkish village for have not done the millitary service but when they found him he was 80 years old!!! so....

If you are a dual citizen, I think you have the option of choosing to serve for your other nation. You say you are 40 years old, so that changes things a bit. I suggest asking your the Turkish embassy or consulate nearest to you. They would be the most informative. I am 27, and I have to serve too, but when I called the military post for my district, they told me that there would be no such things as arrests...

you will be arrested at any age if you are listed as wanted.  if you live in foreign country then you have the parali askerlik chance as you said. it's the best way i think and government gives the opportunity to pay for this in a long time so you pay little by little(as a mortgage).

Then don't go back to Turkey or else you'll be dragged to jail. Everyone must do their service unless you pay up, you will be allowed to serve for 21 days only. Why don't you want to do it?
