What harder SKATEBOARDING? or SURFING?

In surfing your landing is softer, but it's easier to learn the basics in skateboarding (I do both).  But for a beginner, I'd pick skateboarding - the equipment's way cheaper and you can skateboard pretty much anywhere. Also, skateboarding is a more teach yourself sport than surfing.

Skateboarding you need LOTS of balance and some strength.

Surfing its the opposite.

To get to a decent level of paddling you'll need a while. And heaps of working out.
