  1. If you intend to copy a Blu ray movie first know that it is considered misuse (even though you are probably making a backup to use).

You more than likely heard that Blu-rays are prone to scratching more so than DVD or CD's inversely to the wavelength.

This is case and point why I am not likely to hop on to the bandwagon.

  2. This will depend on the drive. Be sure to read the outside of the box if you are buying from a physical store, or buy online only from a reputable dealer who lists the minimum specs.

In particular, pay attention to the drive interface (connection). Blue-Ray is new enough that many of them use an SATA connection. Whereas many older computers do not have SATA, but have "IDE" or "ATA" instead.

Rule of Thumb: You will not be happy with the performance unless you have at least a 1 GHz processor, 1GB of memory, and a fairly good hard drive with 10% or more free space. If you are going to watch movies via this Blue-ray player, you probably also want a good video card with digital output and/or at least S-Video, and a good pair/set of speakers.

  3. You might need to get a new graphics card for your computer, thats my best guess, maybe you should go to your nearest Circuit City or Best Buy and ask the people there for their advice.  Good Luck
