@ chocolat..., how does Obama look Arabian? Arabians are mostly more darker, he's lighter than an Arabian. He's biracial. His mom was white, his father was black and a Kenya immagrant going to school in Hawaii. (For the people who keep assuming he's muslim) Barack Obama was his father's name, that's where he got his name from.

  5. Senator

In the U.S. Senate, Obama introduced the STOP FRAUD Act to increase penalties for mortgage fraud and provide more protections for low-income homebuyers

  9. "Nothing, absolutely nothing"

    With respect to Edwin Starr.

  10. Obama and the DNC has sold the people a man that only exists in their minds. Their belief system is based on secular ideology and somehow that all our social ills will be cured by one man. Does anyone remember Obama's speech at the 2004 convention? I was amazed by this man...so young, so articulate. Then as his train started rolling I watched and waited...he never voted on anything that would offend those that placed him at that stage. He played the game and here we are approaching election day. Now we must make the choice and we have to answer that question you have posed...but is the question we should be asking is, "who does Obama owe?" That would be a wise question to ponder at this juncture.

  11. being born from a mom who was unwed when she got with child at age 17.

lets his 4 year old daughter listen to snoop dog and laughs at her when she tries to sing along and mess's up on the f-word.

yeah. those are just some of his accomplishments.

ousted his competition over signatures on the forms because people signed their names instead of printed them, some people had moved since they since the form so that made them not correct. used his old school chicago politics for that.

he made the great "light shall shine upon you and make you  vote for me speech"

thats from hanging around racist rev wright for 20 years.

  12. Pure, raw talent.  His skill as a politician and statesman is demonstrated by his meteoric rise to winning the presidential nomination.  I'll be voting for Obama because of what he will do in the future, not because of what he has done in the past.  I think America's future looks brighter with Obama as president.

  13. This question has been asked and answered multiple times on Y!A.  I'll give you the list, but given the tone of your question, I know it will be greeted with the response, "so what's such a big deal about that?"  OK, that's your right.  Just remember that Democrats are proud of Obama's accomplishments, not ashamed of them as Republicans are of McCain's accomplishment.  Until just recently, McCain was a traitor to Republicans for his passage of campaign finance reform, his actions to block Bush's judicial nominees, his position on global warming, his insistence on torture legislation, his position on "amnesty" for illegal immigrants, his opposition to Bush's tax cuts, his position on drilling in ANWR, and his repeated support for the moratorium on offshore drilling.  McCain has either abandoned his positions to pander to his party, or his party has "forgotten" about how they felt about his positions.  Whatever you need to stay in power.

    Barack Obama accomplishments:

Graduated from Columbia University and the Harvard Law School, where he headed the Harvard Law Review.

    In the Illinois Senate:

    • Senator Obama's sponsored legislation that expanded Kidcare, a child health care plan in Illinois.

    • After a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama worked with law enforcement officials to pass bipartisan legislation requiring the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

    • Obama created the Illinois Earned Income Tax Credit for low-income working families in 2000 and successfully sponsored a measure to make the credit permanent in 2003. The law offered about $105 million in tax relief over three years.

    • Obama sponsored legislation that expanded early childhood education.

    • Obama joined forces with former U.S. Sen. Paul Simon (D-IL) to pass the toughest campaign finance law in Illinois history. The legislation banned the personal use of campaign money by Illinois legislators and banned gifts from lobbyists. Before the law was passed, one organization ranked Illinois worst among 50 states for its campaign finance regulations.

    In the U.S. Senate

    • Obama passed legislation with Republican Senator Jim Talent to give gas stations a tax credit for installing E85 ethanol refueling pumps. The tax credit covers 30 percent of the costs of switching one or more traditional petroleum pumps to E85, which is an 85 percent ethanol/15 percent gasoline blend.

    • Obama sponsored a bill with Republican Senator Tom Coburn that makes the federal budget far more transparent and accessible to Americans via the internet.

    • Obama and Democratic Senator Russ Feingold took on both parties and proposed ethics legislation that was described as the "gold standard" for reform. It was because of their leadership that ending subsidized corporate jet travel, mandating disclosure of lobbyists' bundling of contributions, and enacting strong new restrictions of lobbyist-sponsored trips became part of the final ethics bill that was signed into law.

    • He has worked with Republican Senator d**k Lugar to lock down nuclear weapons around the world.
