I read that he has cancelled their 3 year deal to play pre-season games at Carrera (sp?) and they will no longer play any home games in Gold Coast.

Is he just playing petty games because he is didnt get his way and is retaliating for the Kangas wanting to stay in Melbourne??

  1. I agree with Rockmum!!!! lol

Nah,I have not heard the details yet.I'm sure he has a motive.

  2. I think that there is more to canceling the  3 year deal than meets the eye.

Andy being a Kangas player from years back would want North to re -establish themselves in Melbourne after all the turmoil of this year. North can't get supporters if they play on the Gold Coast. He would be giving them every opportunity to prove their point with Brayshaws crew.

  3. Rogue,i think cancelling Norths games up on the gold coast is probably the only right thing he has done.

with all the negative publicity up there about how the kanga's rejected the city blah blah and even with the mayor john landy saying don't bother playing here we don't want you and we won't support the kangas, its probably better to cancel than let the Kanga's be embarrassed when no one shows up to support them-why continue to flog a dead horse? when there's no chance North will go there permanently-and the gold coast public know this.

  4. NO!.. as CEO he is just the spokesperson for the AFL commission.   They meet and decide strategies and make decisions like any other committee.     Andy D. is simply the message boy after those committee meetings .      In reality comparing Arden St. to the Gold Coast, the tourist capital of the country , North have made an extremely poor business decision  staying in Melbourne .      In the past 20 years the CHANGE to the game has been enormous , 6 interstate teams have evolved, the VFL became the AFL, and all the NEW interstaters except Freo, have won flags .   North having agreed to join the AFL from the VFL have now virtually ignored a AFL directive, as the AFL continue  to develop the game on a national basis .     The AFL is a multi million $ business, and a business fact is, that the small industrial suburb of North Melbourne, does not in any way COMPARE with the GOLD COAST and its resources.      Another damming point is that the Southport  Sharks, who play in the QLDAFL, are one of the wealthiest Aussie Rules clubs in Australia, with 40,000 social Members, Nth Melbourne are not wealthy and only have 7000 members .   North have decided to stay in Melbourne, the AFL are only cancelling, their Gold Coast connections,  they turned their backs on ....simple business .    If you are first in line to be  offered a Rolls Royce and told you had to live on the Gold Coast to drive it, in any state except Vic, and you refuse the OFFER, why would you expect to get the Keys, and go for a drive on a casual visit, you are no longer apart of the equation,  while they look to re offer the deal to another user !.

  5. Yeah, it sounds like a petty thing, espically as the AFL still have to pay the Roos for the allocated games. He just wants to start a team in the Gold coast so bad, if they wont be on board then he wants nothing to do with them.

Pretty stupid on his part as the payments are in contract.

  6. yes, i think so, you could right, ???? lol xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  7. its all so strange

considering he did play with North
