Even though by looking at the map you would assume Atlantic Canada, its not, Central Canada has the largest population density.  If you are looking at a choropleth map, make sure you understand its divisions and its maximum values.

Let me demonstrate.  Remember Population density is the amount of people per area of land.

    Pacific Canada

    BC - Area: 944,735 km², Pop: 4,428,356

    Alberta - Area: 661,848 km², Pop: 3,512,368

    Total - Area: 1,606,583km², Pop: 7,940,724

    Density: 4.94/km²

    Central Canada

    Ontario - Area: 1,076,395 km², Pop: 12,891,787

    Quebec - Area: 1,542,056 km², Pop: 7,744,530

    Total - Area: 2,618,451 km², Pop: 20,636,317

    Density: 7.88/km²

    Atlantic Canada

    NS - Area: 55,283 km², Pop: 935,962

    NB - Area: 72,908 km² , Pop: 751,527

    NFLD - Area: 405,212 km², Pop: 508,270

    PEI - Area: 5,683.56 km² , Pop: 139,407

    Total - Area: 539,087 km², Pop: 3,589,832

    Density: 6.65/km²

I won't bother with the territories or Prairie provinces because they both have extremely low population densities.

So as you can see, Central Canada has the largest population density according to your breakdown.

  3. Central Canada :-)
