  1. Mostly rap and hip hop

  2. There really isn't any popular music as it was understood decades ago.

There is simply rap and hip hop which only appear to a certain segment of the population and is considered noise and bad language to the rest. Fifty years ago there was rock and roll and then would

was considered popular or adult music. A lot of times they overlapped

and kids would like the adult music and their folks would like the rock and roll (My Dad loved Bill Haley and the Comets)  For people today there is either Golden Oldies from the 50's to the 80s and then some

adult singers of pop music like Josh Groban etc and then the rest is rap/hip hop. It is too bad as it has definitely stifled creativity in the

music world. It seems that if you are a not a gangsta and dress funny and talk dirty you can't get a cd played on the radio.

  3. They are calling it country. Taylor Swift, Jennifer Nettles etc.

  4. I guess it kind of depends, there are two kinds of popular music.

Both of which I hate. There is the emo/screamo, which consists of Panic at the Disco, Fall out Boy, From First to Last and My Chemical Romance. Blehh. And then there is pop and some hip-hop. Like T-Pain.

Todays music is terrible in my opinion, but if you like more power to you I guess.
