the size of Belgium was being destroyed every year and it was a major disaster; pop stars like Sting and Kim Wilde got involved and went over and brought back an Indian who had never been out of the jungle, to appear on British tv in some massive campaign...and then it was all forgotten and out of the news as quick as it came about

  1. They gave up - the cause is lost- the World Bank now owns the Amazon rain forest due to the inability of Brazil to repay loans that was made to it - The log cutting profits are all going to the world bank, and they are too powerful to influence in any way- The rain forest will be gone forever, and the future of mankind will probably be lost with it.Sometimes we can only grieve.

  2. my parents have a dinning room set from there. lol

  3. do you know who OWN'S the the amazon rain forest ?

The Worldbank and International Monetary Fund and they dont care what happens to it, just so that they are in control of it.

  4. They took it out of the news when they realised that they were short of energy supplies and the rain Forrest could be replaced with crops for oil like rape seed oil. There was so much hoo haa on having greener energy that they didn't want to make a huge deal over the fact they were destroying the earth to gain it.

  5. yeah man... that's some serious shizzle there fella...

I know that a lot of the area surrounding it is now grassland, but beyond that, logging is the cancer on the lungs of the Earth and the regional governments need to sort it out!

A boycott of goods produced from the wood there is a good idea...

  6. I think Sting got it sorted
