What has been your experience on cymbalta?

I was put on cymbalta for treatment of major depression 7 days ago. I have found it to be very helpful so far and am looking forward to more positive results. However I have noticed one thing in particular ( a possible side effect?) that I have a problem with... my labido has gone down the tubes. I was wondering what other peoples experiences were like with this drug?

That is a common side effect with SSRI's like Cymbalta, Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, and others.  Happens to me with Prozac.  If it really bothers you,  look into Wellbutrin.  It does not have this side effect for most people.

I took Cymbalta for about a year and a half. I definitely noticed the huge drop in my libido. I asked my doctor and he told me that it was not uncommon. I have recently went off of Cymbalta and everything is back to normal!

Hi. My girlfriend has been taking Cymbalta for depression for a while and she says it has helped her a lot. The downfall is, she has gained a lot of weight since she started taking it ( she has never had a weight problem before ). So i would watch out for that, i have heard other people complain of that side effect from Cymbalta also. Hope it continues to work for you with no added side effects. Good Luck :-)
