i read that the "residue" found in the candle afterward is not in fact anything from ones ear, but is only residue from the candle itself.

  1. i've never personally done it but i saw on the news in my area someone went deaf after an accident with ear candling so i'm a little skeptical to try it

  2. I personally tried the ear candle thing and it didnt work for me. I found that over the counter stuff worked better in my case.

  3. My family has been doing this since I was a child.  My grandma use to make her own out of sheets and wax and it was something we would do on holidays together.  It works!  I've seen the videos saying it doesn't or that it's just the wax from the candle.  I'm sure a part of what is there is wax however if you do it right and hold it IN your ear you can actually feel the suction pulling the wax from your ear.  I've seen videos where the person is holding the candle not quite in the ear, don't be afraid to put it in...it's not going to go anywhere.  It's very soothing and therapeutic.  I highly recommend doing it yourself once and see how you feel and what you experience.  Me and my family love doing it and they have been doing it a lot longer than me. :)  The only way it works is with suction, so try to hold it still.
