I was just wondering about this because not too long ago I had to attend a funeral by force! I was out with a friend and he had forgotten it was one of his relatives funeral. (He wasn't close to them.) Anyway, his parents pretty much dropped a guilt trip on him and he ended up going. I was going to stay in the car cause I wasn't wearing appropiate attire and I didn't know the person. I really didn't mind waiting. Well his parents forced me in the funeral place! There I am walking in down the isle trying to find a place to sit wearing blue jeans and a Led Zeppelin shirt! I felt horrrrible. To top it off I didn't know who the deceased was or what I should say to the other family members. It was the most awkward situation of all. Then, I apologized like crazy to the family members about my attire and stuff. Then theysaid, "It's okay if you brought a Led Zeppelin t-shirt. Everyone should listen to them if they don't. And ironic enough, they played stairway to heaven for the man in the coffin. I guess...it was a bad experience with an awkward satisfying ending.
