What has changed in Christchurch?

I haven't lived in Christchurch for many years. Can anyone tell me what has changed? Does it still rain a lot?

It rained so much this year that there were some landslides from the Port Hills.  Ruined some guys house.

Other than that, the malls keep getting bigger and the outer suburbs keep growing.  There are even some flash as high rise apartments going up.  

Time to move!

I think that there is a building there that is taller than the cathedral spire, my new zealand cousin told me. If memory serves correctly it was some government building...but it's only taller by a few metres
