What has changed in society throughout the years??

im doing an essay for my socio class...its a compare/contrast essay on how peoples view of society has changed over the past 60 years.

it can be on anything such as abortion,g*y marriage,human rights,interracial relationships,gang violence...etc

In your opinion, how different are times now??

  1. 60 years ago people believed in the 2nd amendment now they dont seem to.

    They believed in the U.S. now the just complain about anything the U.S. does.


  2. I truly believe society as a whole has lost the ability to be shocked. Where has the shock factor gone? I think it's sad that disturbing news is expected on a daily basis. Are we becoming numb?   Years ago people would be in shock for days over things that were read in the paper or heard on the news. These day we listen or read and forget about it, simply because we have to move on the next horrifying news.

    integrity means absolutely nothing now.

    money means everything.

    we're more selfish.

    it sucks.

  5. Our values, morals... what was right and what was wrong...

    Society puts too much focus on Money and materialistic things.

  6. Bad Morals due to kids being raised in daycares.

    Economics:  Mothers cannot stay home and raise their kids leading to bad morals.

    Good paying jobs with pensions are a thing of the past.

    Employers not appreciating employees leading to job hopping instead of careers.

    No community spirit, people are on their own if they need help with anything.

    Gosh, makes me wish if were 60 years ago...

  7. good paying, low workload jobs are highly coveted and kept for cronyism. they were easier to obtain 30 years ago when the steel mills were in operation.

    worker unions are slipping away as they erode the value of the dollar.

    cars are made much better now!

    there is less tolerance for non-english speaking people.
