  1. it's not as bad as US reality tv is it ???

  2. I'll tell you what has happened.

Television is now run by g*y people and women for the benefit of g*y people and women.

  3. i dont think its that bad!

  4. Your  right!  ITV  are  in  trouble  as  advertisers  are  losing  money  as  no  one  is  watching.  The  BBC  will  soon  be  in trouble  when  they  change  to  digital  and  push up  the  price  of  a  licence.  Go  on  Ovguide.com  and  watch  something  there.  you  won't  be  dissapointed.

  5. Yeah, ever since Richard Titchmarch left Ground Force, there is nothing on British television

  6. i agree more and more channels showing less and less now freeview  television . with a few exceptions its utter utter shite dustbin fodder . but the sheep still love their eastsiders  and utterly rubbish street

  7. Depends if you have sky or not, most of the stuff that used to be on is still on anyway...

Was it ever really that good?

  8. Bloody good question.

We have something like 200 channels to choose from  yet how often in a week is there anything that is remotely worth watching.

To make matters worse Sky charges us a fortune but has the nerve to fill their programmes with mountains of adverts which seem to appear every two minutes and last for ten.

When will someone get the message that we don't need 200 channels of rubbish, just a handful that shows decent watchable stuff  would be better.

  9. I like some of the soaps from time to time but I prefer the US imports ie CSI, Ghost Whisperer, Stargate, Bones, Friends .etc. .etc. I've also got back into Home & Away now that's been taken off the air. British TV is full of repeats, some watchable like the old sit coms but some are awful. I am sick of adverts every five-ten minutes as well not only that but adverts are shoved on during programmes. It's almost like TV's been dumbed down for the masses because how many times do we need to know what the next programme is? I mean most people own a TV guide or have teletext or Sky to check what they want to see next.

My advice is to buy loads of DVDs because TV is going down the plughole. I used to like X factor but that has lost plot and the soaps lately are just depressing. They got rid of stuff like Top of the pops but haven't replaced it with anything else. Bring back the 80s cartoons, 60s and 70s sitcoms, 90s telly and Saturday morning programmes for kids. Oh and Top of the pops please come back and less adverts please. Oh and one more rant for the books, quit having the sign language person in the corner of most programmes, TV is too PC. We can't even get rid of them if we choose to!

  10. The people with talent are sidelined while the muppets kids of those and such as those get the important media jobs and then we wonder why UK tv is c**p.

  11. The death of the public service ideal and the struggle for ratings leading to lowest common denominator broadcasting - "tabloid television".

  12. It is better than most other TV offerings around the world , but got worse than before on itself.

  13. The telly is really so bad I've started listening to the radio much more than I used to. There are some great radio programmes on the BBC podcast site and "listen again". It's surprising how enjoyable it is just to lie on the sofa and listen to (just for example) Bethany Hughes' series about the Medici. Who needs the telly?

  14. Much of it is i grant you, i now dig out DVDs or put on some music.

There are a few little gems in there but you have to be very quick to find them.

  15. I agree. I've just ordered 300 bricks and some mortar to build a small wall so I can batter my head against it for hours on end.

    Bring back Noggin the Nog.

What we REALLY need is an in depth documentary investigating (in graphic detail) the peculiar s*x lives of BBC tv news and weather presenters.  And Alan Titchmarsh, not some man-voiced harridan.

  16. i agree, i've been saying the same thing for a long time. ther'es hardly anything worth watching anymore.there may be a good documentary once in a blue moon but there dosn't seem to be any decent dramas anymore

  17. Hey there now, the latest season of Top Gear wasn't that bad!
