  1. Great fighters create more great fighters. After all, people only train as hard as to beat the competition. If the competition is good, everyone will train seriously to win. If the competition sucks, the training will be less.

Also when you're in the gym with a superstar, that makes you train harder because you can see them everyday.

When Lennox left, nobody trained as hard to beat him or even earn a fight with him. In time, we will get a birth of new special boxers and people will train even harder again.

  2. blame it on poor training and lack of a stable ametuer career for the division. Lewis was the last of the late 80's early 90's fighters that the division was able to create. Most of the fighters who would be classics are doing other sports(as far as it goes with american fighters) The russians are do a fair job of training and development. But I also blame it on the lack of a true heavyweight champ. that is the promoters and sactioning bodies fault for not letting these belt holders get in the ring and decide a new champ. Instead of making a house hold name  they are just trying to milk what they can dry.

  3. He is out there he may be a 10 year old boy about to have his first fight and he will fall in love with boxing. Boxing is not for everyone regardless of how big a person is I don,t buy the fact that the next heavy weight is in the NFL we have always had the NFL and we have always had great champions it just takes time to develop a great heavy weight fighter. Now you see how good we had it when we had Ali, Frazier ,Big For man Larry Holmes we would not even be talking about Leonox Lewis if Mike Tyson had not fallen off the wagon because he was truly a great fighter. Boxing is a hurt game I played football and I boxed it takes a lot more to get into that ring than it does to go out onto the football field in that ring it is just you and the other guy. In boxing we don,t car how fast you run the 40 yard dash or how many times you can bench press 225lbs or what your vertical leap is. Out of all the NFL players that weigh more than 200lbs. there might be one that could make a name for himself as a boxer but I dought if any of them could be  ranked in the top 10. Boxing is another world I have made a lot of men a lot biger than me cry in the ring and never come back. Boxing will be fine it,s not like basketball where you can say that Kobe is better than Michael Jordan people in our sport get knocked out . You can play fooyball but you can,t play boxing . Boxing is the truth sport when you get into that ring the truth will come out and everyone can see it

  4. I agree with the above poster. I'm speaking about America when I say this, but, all the great potential heavyweights are either in the NFL right now, or trying to to get into the NFL. Boxing isn't really a big sport anymore in America. Gone are the days where you'll see press conferences on CBS or NBC. Gone are the days where heavyweights were complete boxer. Klitschko is a heavyweight that relies on his sheer size to win fights, Samuel Peter is a good fighter who could be great if he had discipline and a halfway descent trainer, Ruslan Chagaev would be a journeyman in the Heavyweight era of yesterday. Ike Ibeabuchi, who would be the undisputed champ right now, is in jail. Kevin Johnson has some potential. Chris Arreola, well, he is what he is. He's had over 200 amateur fights and I don't see him getting much better than he already is, which isn't really much. I hope David Haye is as devastating at heavyweight as he is at Cruiserweight, he has both personality and skill, then we'll see some true action.

  5. their is no class in the heaveyweight samuel Pete is an untalented dumb figther but has a power punch, Kilticho is a pussey straight up he dosnt want to get hit or break a sweat he has all the tools he just dosnt want to fight he rather be a celeberty, Nikoli Valuev i think can be the best just because he is so big an power full he has no real talent but he is a good man an if he had the right trainer he would be amazing but he dose not have a good trainer so he comes into fights unfit.

PS who needs the heaveywieghts when we got the great fighters in other devisions.

  6. today they see it as a sport like tennis and they are not born fighters.

as today if they can play other sports and not get hurt and still make money.

look at some of the best and boxing was all they had as thats all they could do. today is not the same they dont have to fight

  7. I agree, since Lennox Lewis retired the division has gone downhill.

Wladimir Klitchko is the best of them at the moment, but we are talking about a guy who was blown away in 2 rounds by South Africa's Corrie Sanders a few years ago!

Some of the East European fighters arent that bad actually, but because they arent Americans they dont get any credit at all.

But i agree, Lewis was the best heavyweight there has been over the last 25 to 30 years at least

Samuel Peter is simply the new David Tua, Vitali Klitchko is better than his brother, and is making a comeback.

I think David Haye could be the new star at heavyweight, he has great skills, speed, tremendous power.

In america there are no fighters that come anywhere near being a new Holyfield, Bowe, Holmes or Tyson, let alone Ali, Frazier or Foreman.

Most US heavies right now are of the standard of the Alphabet Boys of the 1980's, guys like Tony Tubbs, Pinklon Thomas, Greg Page, Mike Dokes etc......and thats me being kind to them!

Apart from David Haye, Britain has no one else either. Guys like Danny Williams and Matt Skelton arent any better than the fighters coming out of the USA, and Britain doesnt have many boxers anyway!

Unless Haye can change things, The division will continue to be dominated by East Europeans.....they ARE technically proficient, but they are also BORING to watch!

  8. Klitschkos are good I dont know what you talking bout
