its definitely provided me with stability in my life, 100%. I feel like I have a constant support system that I didn't feel like I had without my husband. He's been there for me truely, even more than my family for the exception of my grandmother.

Interesting question,

I guess people think that when they get married, they think that their life situation will be more stable.  No more dating, courting, looking for love in all the wrong places...

If everyone was loyal, faithful, and committed then it would feel stable.  Being married, even though there is no guarantee, I do feel more stable.  I can count on my hubby for many things, we help each other, and I know he is there for me.  And it is nice to not worry about feeling loved or dating.  Although the attention from dating is nice...

its just psychological, nothing more. Stability has everything to do with the wants of the individual. You can be single and stable, but some may find more comfort "stability" in a marriage.

Nothing, in fact a lot of times, it upsets stability.  Being "settled down" has NOTHING to do with being married.
