  1. chick peas , beans , toffu

  2. As long as you are getting enough calories, and as long as they aren't from junk food, you're getting enough protein.  Call me when there's an epidemic of kwashiorkor in any industrialized nation.

  3. Tofu

    Imitation Meats

    Nuts

    Whole grain bread

    Whole grain cereal

    Beans

    Soy milk

    Soy yougurt

It is hard NOT to get enough protein if you are eating a well-balanced diet and the appropriate amount of calories per day. Just eat a healthy diet and you should be fine :) If you are still worried, you can find protein supplements at GNC or other health food stores.

  4. i have been a vegeatarian for a year and the way i get my protein is by eating alot of dairy product (milk, cheese, and yogurt)  I also eat tofu.

  5. beans, nuts, pasta, SOY! soy is a huge one. you can replace a lot of things with it to get a good intake of protein. for example, theres tofu, soy milk, a lot of veggie burgers, etc.

  6. It is a myth that vegetarian diets do not have enough protein. The average person only needs about 50 grams of protein per day. Protein is in everything, just look at the side of boxes. In todays world it is very hard to be protein deficient if you are eating a wide variety and adequate calories(honestly, when was the last time you heard of someone with a protein deficiency)

    High protein foods include:

soy milk, tofu, nuts(Almonds, Cashews, Filberts, Hemp Seeds, Peanuts, Pumpkin seeds, Sesame seeds, Sunflower seeds, Walnuts (black)), seeds, legumes(Garbanzo beans, Kidney beans, Lentils, Lima beans, Navy beans, Soybeans, Split peas), grains(Barley, Brown rice, Buckwheat, Millet, Oatmeal, Rye, Wheat germ, Wheat, hard red, Wild rice), vegetables(Artichokes, Beets, Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Green peas, Green pepper, Kale, Lettuce, Mushrooms, Mustard green, Onions, Potatoes, Spinach, Tomatoes, Turnip greens, Watercress, Yams, Zucchini), fruits(Apple, Banana, Cantaloupe, Grape, Grapefruit, Honeydew melon, Orange, Papaya, Peach, Pear, Pineapple, Strawberry)

Trust me protein deficiencies are rare in the U.S and are mostly found in third world countries that suffer from famine. Spend a day keeping track of the protein you take in, and you will be surpried at just how much it is.

  7. eggs, beans, peanut butter!

  8. Nuts, eggs, beans, bread, pasta, and cereal are some. This site has a HUGE list of high protein foods: http://www.highproteinfoods.net/

  9. Congrats on going veg!

Good vegetarian sources of protein include almonds, black beans, cashews, fake meats, garbanzo beans (chickpeas), kidney beans, lentils, pinto beans, seitan, soybeans, soymilk, sunflower seeds, textured vegetable protein (TVP), and tofu.
