  1. a lido is usually a pool


  2. lido is the beach area or pool area.  pretty much any area near water where you can get some sun.  every coastal community in italy has a lido area.  the best- you pretty much have to pay for a spot at the nice beaches, but you usually get an umbrella or lounge chaise.  pay more and get a cabana.
