  1. With russia having veto power (as well as US, UK, China and France), Security Council is in a gridlock and can not pass any resolution whatsoever

  2. Stood back like they always do when it isn't a conflict between two third world countries.

  3. The UN are weak and have no real power..They will stay out of this one and let the political big wigs have their day.

  4. Not much so far; just threats. Russia is out-of-control! But I imagine they view us in the same way. Now that Russia has money, it's back to the Cold War! They don't view the world the same way as everyone else. They HATE the countries that spawned off the U.S.S.R! So they are willing to kill their own people to prove a point. What that point is? That doesn't even matter, because you can't justify killing innocent people!

  5. Nothing, and it should stay this way.

Abhazia & Osetia were fighting to be independent from Georgia for over 5 centuries.

I am happy that they are recognized as sovereign nations, at list by RF. Georgians are the oppressors.

Saying that Abhazia & Osetia is a part of Georgia, is like saying that Texas & California is a part of Mexico.
