So everyone should help fight global warming - but what's the best to do? Use the lightbulbs, recycle, walk to school?

  1. shoot gore's jet down would be a nice start.

  2. We need to look toward tomorrow, we should quit settling for big business to dole out new technologies in metered amounts and demand that products that will ensure a brighter tomorrow be manufactured.

Products that last, that can be fixed when broken, that actually have replaceable parts that don't cost more than the a new one.

We need to use our buying power wisely, instead of buying what is popular and what our friends have or buying what will make our friends jealous we need to keep our products until they need to be exchanged.

We need to band together and make our own products, products we want instead of letting some stuffy board room committee decide what they will release.

Either big business will listen to people who demand these things and produce the products that will help to ensure a brighter future or they will perish because we shouldn't stand for it.

  3. Save energy (by following the tips from the other answers given), both electricity and heat (like hot water in the bathroom and also for heating your home).

Avoid taking car for short trips, walk and cycle instead. Take public transport (aka mass transit) for longer trips. Avoid travelling by airplane (take train or bus instead, don't go abroad for just recreation, find something as exciting to do in your home country).

Eat less meat (reduce meat consumption and eventually try to switch over to vegetarian or vegan diet entirely).

Buy organic and locally-produced foods. Avoid unnecessary consumption.

Support those politicians who are in favour of urgent climate actions.

Good luck and thank you for caring about the world!

  4. try my idea its been working in my house for years buy an air conditioner

  5. be conscious of your energy use.

switch to green energy.plant more trees around .

  6. There was study released just a few weeks ago that stated natural causes had a much greater impact on the shrinking Arctic ice cap than previously thought. While they still said man bore some blame, I think it's clear evidence that this global warming thing may still need more research before we can conclusively say it's man's fault.

That aside, switching to compact fluorescent bulbs in your home can make a huge impact. I switched all the bulb in my home about a year ago and my energy usage is consistently 15-20% less than the year before.

You can save even more by putting TVs, VCRs, DVD players, and other similar devices on a power strip that you turn off when not in use. Even when turned off, these devices still use energy. Turning off your computer when you're not home is another good one - especially if you're gone for 8-10 hours a day or more. These are all changes you can make that won't affect your life style.

Even though I'm not sold on the idea we can do anything about global warming, I still believe reducing energy consumption and pollution is the right thing to do.

  7. for you personnaly. have fewer kids.  Encourage world leaders to limit population.  No matter how much we reduce our footprint, we keep doubling the number of footprints every 25-30 years.  Help make this the priority.

  8. I think the most effective way is for every house, office and industry to have self supply of electric energy from alternative sources, like wind turbines or solar panels, and every small producer will buy and sell energy using the existing electric grid, that could cut down the use for fossil fuels.

  9. carpool, don't smoke

  10. Cooking with a microwave oven.  Ever notice how the kitchen heats up after you bake a pie?  All that energy is wasted.

And then there is the clothes dryer.  Hang drying is free.

  11. Don't have kids.  This planet can only hold so many people, no matter how "green" they live.

  12. Nothing...... The Earth's climate is not static....never has been and never will be.  Man cannot successfully fight the Earth's natural cycles.
