What has the human population come down to?

Why aren't people walking outside now during the summer? Nobody cares anymore? All I see is people in their cars, driving.... Why isn't anyone going out to eat or just hang out? Looks like the place is deserted. It makes me depressed. Times have changed, but for the better or worse? I am reporting this from the Long Island suburbs if anyone is wondering where this is. Please someone give me answers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's regional, lots of people walk in other parts of the country, and even in the city. no one walks in the suburbs, at least not the stereotypical suburbs i know of. I live in Ithaca NY and people are outside every day, and in NY city i doubt they have strayed from their packed ten foot wide sidewalks for favor of 5 mile per hour car travel.

We should all move to Europe where people hang out in outdoor cafe's. Far fewer Europeans have personal computers too. Even less in the Slavic and Baltic countries etc. etc.

We have too many indoor gadgets to play with.
