  1. bassmaster i agree with you, im not to keen on him, i dont like vijay singh as well, hes arrogant and i hate him.

  2. He has a foundation that he donates money to so he can write it off his taxes and it built an educaton center for kids.  Oh and he wins a lot which usually helps.  Actually I am not sure his public image is that good, but I don't think he cares.  If I had his golf swing, and money I don't think I would be too concerned with what other people think.

  3. Maturity, in everything. You don't see him showing off anytime. Look at what he has acheived for his age, but you don't see him bringing it up all the time.

You can complain about his attitude on the course, but he is in that mode when he's competing, may be that is one of the reasons he is so much better than other guys because he sort of puts himself in his own world and don't let anyone else get in there.

You have to agree that no other golfer has ever entertained golf fans the way he has. It is fun to watch him, don't you think?

  4. I think his charity work and the fact that he has steered clear of any trouble has helped his public image.  Also he doesn't seem to have a 'chip' on his shoulder, like guys in the NFL, NBA or MLB.  I think he has applied some of the good things in golf to his personal life, y'know what I mean?  Like honesty, and truthfulness.

  5. the 2 greatest atheltes in the catagory of humanitarian/ athlete are tiger woods and muhamed ali . tiger is close to the champ , will join him as the greatest in this forgotten catagory .his bonus from nike , was used to search for the soyh vietnamese captain he was nicknamed after . the man had been executed . the foundation cut through the red tape . moved the family from vietnam, greatly assisted the family with major lifestyle changes , trained them with best tutors available . every one of this vfamilys children will recieve full college tuition forever . helped inner city youth , with first tee program , this has saved lives , no stats to prove this just common sense , great example to youth and adults . many pro athletes , could do the same but thier egos , get in the way . also think he plays golf pretty darn good .

  6. Just like almost everyone else said, he does plenty of charity work with children.  He lives a wholesome life and stays away from temptations.  The thing that makes him special to me is what he has done for golf.  The game is much more diverse, as far as fans and golfers go and we owe alot of it to Tiger.  He has made golf one of the mainstream sports in America today

  7. I admire him.  To me his greatest attributes are dedication, perseverance, focus, ambition, drive and passion.

True he does not smile like Boo, or Brad Snedeker, but Brad smiles too much which made him look as if he didn't care.

One time John Daly told him to relax and take time out, and Tiger answered that if he had half the talents John had, he won't have to practice so hard.

Bottom line is, Tiger is great because he practices and practices and practices, and does not take anything for granted.   To have that kind of drive and mental toughness he has to be tough on himself, and focus both on and off course.  That's why he does not smile.

Don't know if all that makes sense.

  8. Yes , like PB said - he has done a lot of work with kids and creating a special school for kids etc.

I still don't like him very much do to his attitude on the course (unless he is crushing the competition).  He seems so sour/angry all the time, doesn't seem to enjoy the game (unless he has a 5shot+ lead).  Although it is mainly due to his huge competitive attitude and drive to excel.    i think i'm the only person this bugs.
