What have a shiny copper back splash- What color should I paint my kitchen?

I have black appliances & light maple cabinets. The kitchen is open to the family room. It is a nice open space, but I am struggling with a color choice. Im afraid the color I choose with not "match" or go with the shiny copper! If anyone can help, please send your advice!

So black, copper, and Maple? I'd say so a darker yellow with a light-brown sponge technique

If you know your back splash is going to stay shiny I say keep your paint color very earthy.  Browns , golds and greens will look great with copper.  Remember, the color copper is related to the orange family so what would you put or not put with orange??

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. I think a dark gold like "grandiose" (# 6404) would go well with the copper.

Go for a shade of bluish-green--like the verdigris that develops as copper ages.
