  1. that was a good 1

  2. Yes I agree Venus vs Lindsay  is the best Wimbledon Final I have ever seen, it was very competitive, both played at a very high level and the comeback from Venus was unforgettable, no one expected her to play the way she did and she proved why she is the best grass court player Lindsay proved that she was still able to compete with all the young guns that are coming up.

  3. Lindsay and Venus's  2005 final is probably my top choice too.  It was the first time in Wimbledon history (and only the second time ever in a slam final) that a player came back from match point down to win in the final, and both players were at their best.  It's not like Lindsay choked either, Venus just rose to the occasion, hitting a backhand winner to save match point, and then going on to finally win it 4-6, 7-6, 9-7.  There have been other great finals too though, like the following year when Mauresmo def. Henin 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a battle of the two best one-handed backhands in women's tennis; Graf defeating Sabatini 6-4, 3-6, 8-6 in a see-saw 1991 final; and going way back to the 1978 final when Navratilova came back from a set and a break down to defeat Evert 2-6, 6-4, 7-5, to win the first of her record 9 Wimbledon singles titles.

  4. in my view.. i would pick the finale  bewteen lindsay davenport and venus willams... the sheer baseline power, and booming serves and rallies that they exchanged and davenport showing her exuburence to play younger players

also, the 2006 womens final bewteen Henin and Mauresmo.. the to most complete players on tour. the net duels, finese shots, and shot variety, heaping atheletism from both players... this would be my top favourite finale.

  5. i agree

  6. well most recently i would put the match of mauresmo vs henin in 2006 on top. what was so great besides the high-quality play was that this match was played by two extremely crafty athletes with one-handed backhands and stupendous net ability. it was just a beautiful, artsy, gutsy match to watch. definitely a far cry from the kind of tennis we had witnessed in the more recent previous years and now prior years.
