  1. Nothing...

  2. it just has too many bugs.

  3. In my opinion, and also that of several magazines including PC Pro, Vista is slower than XP.  PC Pro, in a review of Vista SP1 say: "It's still the case, however, that if you want the fastest application performance you should stick to XP - previous tests indicate that Vista is 8% slower."

Also I don't personally like all of the pop-up security stuff asking me if I want the application that I just ran to talk to the Internet.

  4. because alot of people who have vista there tower really can handle the operaing system to well an if they have alot of components for xp is hard to get vista drivers for them........but ihave vista an love it

  5. Many people still have older machines which have not enough resources for running Vista. And Win XP is battle tested workhorse.

  6. problem is not with the new version of softwares it cant support the old mass storage even any more which are suuportable in windows xp

  7. its because it uses so mutch of you pc just to run it is not very compatable with previous sotware and it has so many bugs and glitches

  8. ITS NEW

  9. It's garbage!

  10. Personally I hate the program, and I have used the Home Premium version.

It seems that I am not alone, because in the last two weeks I have personally, changed operating systems in about twenty-five computers for customers, back to XP home from the Vista XP Home Premium version.

Running XP Home on the same computer as Vista was installed on, XP runs about four times faster, doesn't give you the annoying "are you sure" messages and ask for passwords constantly. Other people claim it runs faster, well, it uses more RAM, more video and is a much larger program, so if you haven't upgraded your system, you tell me how it can run faster, it can't, and it won't. Most have bought new computers or upgraded to systems with fast dual or quad core processors, added massive amounts of RAM then they say it runs faster. Try XP on that same system, if you can even do it, do a real comparison, I have on many systems.

Some people like the operating system because it has lots of gagets, thats fine for playing, but do some work with the program and find out fast what those gagets cost you in performance.

If Microsoft can't do better than Vista, then they are going downhill fast.

Since Vista was released support and popularity for Linux based systems has increased ten fold and the support base has also increased drastically. Ubuntu has become very popular, not to mention other versions of Linux.

Microsoft has tried to force people to use Vista and remove all previous versions of Windows by insisting that new systems no longer have XP installed. They have a great deal to do with new motherboards not having drivers for XP and older versions of Windows also. As Microsoft has done in the past, they continue with their strong arm tactics, which has many people shying away from their products and moving to the less popular Linux based operating systems. Some major computer manufacture companies are now making Ubuntu available on new systems, something that was unheard of in the past, except by special order.

Expect to see Linux based systems increase more and more in the near future, as the operating system becomes more user friendly, moving away from programming specalists and going more to the general public.

I now install Linux based operating systems on about 25% of all custom builds, something that has changed in the last 18 months. Prior to that time I was never ask to install any Linux based operating system on a computer.

  11. I still believe Windows 98 was better. Since I went to Vista I find it  more difficult to use coz its diffrent. Seems Gates & his gang now wont bring out updates for Windows 98 coz they make more by forcing ppl to upgrade and next year I bet another new Windows will come out and Vista declared obselete. Its a big racket.

  12. I guess it isn't as simple and easy to use as Windows XP.

  13. I run Vista, and my computer crashes all the time.

Instinctivly,I blamed Vista...then I found out that it's my 512 MBs of RAM causing the crashes, while I was watching Tom Green on webcam from california, and watching 3 different YouTube vids.

Most of the time,it's user stupidity...What are users to blame but MICROSOFT!

  14. Hi Predator

Those who complain and know-it-all know absolutely nothing about Vista or programming. I beta-test software for Microsoft for years. Win XP is slightly faster. I agree.

But once Vista is booted up, it is virtually crash proof and YES, it downloads and runs faster once you are in windows. We fixed some codes to make it crashproof 99%.

  15. yeah i know! my mum always moans because its too complicated and she'd rather have the old windows one, the grayish one lol. Gosh, theyre all the same, but vista looks so much better! and you get sidebar gadgets :)
