  1. I used to build three wheeled motorcycles from volkswagons(without using either a kit or pre made plans mind you), and yes I did become locally well known for it , I gave it up for the same reason. I was always up-staged by my own creations and it REALLY pissed me off. hope this helped,Mark

  2. I enjoy baking--cakes, cookies, pies--from scratch. When they turn out well...GREAT!

accolades? don't do it for accolades, but for the satisfaction of a job well done

  3. My own sewing box.  Couldn't find one I liked.  Also a clock out of a Currier and Ives plate for the same reason.  I sold about $700 worth of the clocks to people I worked with and also some on eBay.

Also made some embroidered quilts--hand quilted, not machine.  I crochet.

When I was living in another state, I had a llittle business making jam, jelly, fudge and assorted goodies.  A friend of mine in that state tells me people still ask about them, and I've been gone for about 18 months, so I guess that's an accolade..

  4. Peanut butter- oatmeal -chocolate chip deluxe cookies! Yes, it did get me the accolades I deserve, but I think it would be better if I gave Ms.Feilds cookies some serious competition!

  5. A Wedding Cake trio?

  6. I rebuilt a German officer's saddle. I had the bare tree of one saddle and another complete one to use as a template. Everything was hand stitched. I also made a full sized English full bridle from scratch. I hand cut all the different width straps form a hide, cut them to length, and hand stitched all the hardware in place. FYI, a full size bridle will fit thoroughbred size horses. A full bridle, however, means it has a crown piece with its brow band and cheek pieces, a head slip, a cavasan or nose band, and two sets of reins! Got lots of praise on both from different customers.

  7. just the garden... with help from my Better half..well Other half i should say..

  8. I built a creche for my mother to hang in her garden. Not too shabby for Mr. Can't Fix-It.

  10. i built at 69 pontiac gto from ground up...it took a while...but it was worth it.....i brought bak a classic

  11. Ive did many things from scratch but the HARDEST thing was building a coffee table. It turned out beautifully.

    Accoloades? Nah..

I did it cause I was bored and had nothing else to spend my long summer hours on.

  12. Numerous knitted items and crochet items.

Also lots of sewing eg garments, quilts etc.

Cook meals from scratch most days.

Often get praise but not always.

My husband and son built the deck at the back of our home and many other things.

They get accolades nearly every time we use the deck, and they deserve it too.

As they both say "That's one d**n fine looking deck."

  13. I've built two log cabins, from cutting the timber and milling, to quarrying the shale for hearth, floors and counter tops. I've also painted a very large public mural, and written 2 esoteric but well known songs.

As accolades go; I live in one,

no one to my knowledge has seen everything in my mural,

and the people my songs where written for know they inspire.

  14. I made a dollhouse once.

  15. A chocolate angel food cake with ganache topping, raspberry puree and whipped cream. I was very proud of it.
