America and the world is all about supply and demand. Oil is high in demand! It's getting expensive to fill up any tank these days. I ride a bike 20 miles every day back and forth to work. No parking fees and no gas useage. I find it is great.

  1. Carpool.

  2. I am used to walking  from my home to the university: about 3 miles per hour...

  3. My car is broke (not very technical, I know, but the exhaust is making horrible noises, put it that way) and I've refused to get it fixed. Partly because I have no money, but partly as some futile, 'power to the people', sit-in protest thing.

  4. Bikes are great. Some people really need to get on their local governments about improving infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists. It's getting better around where I live, but it's still pretty pathetic.

This summer, I predict that every lawn without a sidewalk on it is going to have one of those skinny dirt trails running across it.
