  1. You could start to get them used to the idea for months ahead of when they are really ready. Take them in the bathroom with you when you go so then they will be like. " I wanna do like mommy".

Later when they are actually going in the potty, You have to act like it's the greatest thing in the world. I mean, like they won the lottery or something.

Dr. Phil says to use a doll that pees and lead by example. When the doll pees in the potty have a all out party for the doll. That May motivate your child.

Also, DO not get mad when they have accidents. It is a learning process and takes time.

  2. 6 is right great answer. I took my daughter into the bathroom when I went(#1) I encouraged her to go next. It helped her to see me

  3. I am 14 now but what my mom did was she bought these underwear that had my favorite Princess on it at the time. So I always said that I would never go to the bathroom on Pocahantus so I rarely went to the bathroom in the many pairs of Pocahantus underwear my mom bought me. Even if you have a son maybe his favorite action figure or something like that. But, the most important thing my mom loved was by the nexted 3 weeks i was using the bathroom on my own. Oh, my mom said to also take him or her to the bathroom reguraly so that they don't have accidents with out telling you

  4. Firstly - WAIT until they show the signs of wanting to be trained.

It is better to wait until the child is older and be trained quicker, than to start too early and then have months of accidents and frustration that only decreases the child's self esteem and confidence.

Secondly - make a huge big deal of how proud you are of them.

Lastly - if they have an accident, clean it up together without showing annoyance or anger - I have seen parents get upset with their kids for accidents and it is detrimental!

  5. Rewards.

    Provide incentive.

  6. I'm not sure if you have a girl or boy, but my little girl just became potty trained.  I feel she really started to have progress when she was in underpants as much as possible when home with me.  It was messy at times, but I feel it's what really made her aware of what needing to use the potty meant.  Good luck!

  7. mini m&m's

    1 for #1

    2 for #2

  8. well, you should punish your child when he ruins his clothes

and when he does go to the bathroom, you should give him rewards and have the child feel that they did something amazing

Also, tell the kid that they are becoming a "Big Boy" or "Big Girl"

    all kids like that
