What have you grown on your windowsill and replanted and you were successful?

I am trying to grow a avacado plant and some chive seeds in a windowsill. I have tried this project before, but wasn't real successful. Anyone have any luck growing seeds in a window. I am in Florida by the way. Any state is fine.

i grow thyme, mint and spring onions on my kitchen windowsill, thyme, mint grow perfectly

Well, I was in college in the 1970's and we used to...ummm...grow ..like ...AVACADOS.  Yeah!  We used to grow avacados like crazy.
