  1. Da Dave obviously lives here!  Great answers!

What can you say about a country that is as unique as Panama?  An isthmus that forms a land bridge between North and South America, so uniquely positioned between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.  Take a morning dip in the Atlantic Ocean and then take a short 3 hr drive across the isthmus and take an afternoon dip in the Pacific.

Because of the Panama Canal shortens the time it takes for shipping vessels to deliver goods almost every national in the world has a vested interest in the development of the canal expansion.

Or what about the natural diversity of Panama itself?  Beaches of the coastlines, the mountains (second largest volcanic crater in the world or the heights of Volcan Baru where I've heard tales of an occasional snow flurry) the Darien jungle that swallows the Pan-American High every time they tried to connect the road to Colombia, the metropolis of Panama City (an international banking center), Indian villages, farms, cattle, tropical fruits cultural diversity.  It host the southern most range of the Northern

Hemisphere species of animals as well as the northern most reach of the Southern Hemisphere species of animals.  900 species of birds (birdwatcher haven), over 10,000 species of plants (Smithsonian is here, both aquatic and in the Darien).

Lest I blather on and on let me sum up my love of my adopted country by saying it is only about the size of South Carolina, but I am ALWAYS amazed at the amount of diversity and richness of living here.
