  1. Ive learned:

that you can actually get bad ratings on an opinion question

that (sadly) there are far more people that would rather say Yankees/Red Sox suck than discuss real baseball questions

that people will actually choose their favorite team based on other people's recommendations (which is again, sad)

that the Rockies fans from last year are all long gone

there are people who will state something as fact and be completely wrong in doing so (as in because they believe its true, they must be correct)

and that some people are so desperate for points that they will answer a question and give everyone else who answers a thumbs down

    Good question. heres a star

  2. that the book "the science and art of baseball pitching" should be read by not only every baseball player, but also every fan

also that kids who suck in real life, come on here to state their stats (probably up their batting average a few hundred points) just to have someone say to them, or type to them, that yes they are a good player and yes they have a shot to make the pros. when in reality they will have tough enough time making their high school varsity team.

that no one cares if you can do 12 push ups with a 120 KG person on your back, go tell your mom that type of stuff

not all yankee fans are band wagoners

yes, there are people that know the game of baseball better than me.

that there is no one around that can say they understand what the h**l billy beane is doing to my poor athletics

  3. I have learned that I know more about baseball than I imagined.

I can BS with the best of them.

  4. 1.Well i've learned that there are more female baseball fans that love the game just like me and i can talk to them about it. :)

i seriously have no girlfriends to talk baseball/sports with and the guys don't take me seriously.. i just have my family members :)

    2. i've learned that although we all love different teams (its a good mix of fans ^^) we all love and appreciate the game of baseball and that's cool! <3

3.also, that there are reallly really BIIIG fans out there who knows almost everything about the game. stats and everything!

  5. I've learned there are other Rays fans out there. I've also learned a lot more about the game that I didn't know before, as far as more detailed rules. I've also confirmed that not all Yankees and Red Sox fans are jerks. And last but not least, I've learned trolls run Answers!

  6. I've learned that my contacts really love the game and are willing to share their experiences with the rest of us.  For the most part we have a pretty good bunch in here.  I learn something new each day and hope that I've been able to teach a little about the game to others.

  7. I learned a lot of kids who are not real good in real life come here begging for compliments because they don't get them in their real life.

I learned that most people are clueless as to who the greatest pitcher of all time is (it's NOT Nolan Ryan or Sandy Koufax - both were great, but neither would be in the top ten of all time greatest pitchers)

I learned that most people have the writing ability of a drunk monkey.

I learned that most people are too lazy to look up scores online - even though coming here and typing "what was the score of such and such game" actually takes up more time and energy.

I learned that most people are too lazy to look in a Becket guide for prices and would rather bother people here.

I learned that most people don't have a clue of who belongs in the Hall of Fame. Sorry, the words "Jamie Moyer" and "Hall of Fame" do not belong in the same sentence.

  8. ive learned that every SINGLE team has a fan and a lot of stats

  9. I've learned that I'm the only person around who actually likes the DH.

  10. 1...that no one likes to talk about the Washington Nationals

2.. that not all baseball fans enjoy baseball cards as a hobby

3..that no one has a 2003 topps trot nixon gold parallel

4..that the tampa rays will win the 2008 world series

  11. well i have learned not to talk to the dude that makes fun of ron santo's diabetes. anybody that makes fun of a medical condition should get shot in the head.

  12. I've learned that not all Yankee fans are rude, classless and ignorant. Some of my very favorite contacts on Y!A are Yankee fans...like yourself, Kim, Elizabeth, The Mick "7" & Katalex...just to name a few.

I've learned that people seem to think that everyone on Y!A has a crystal ball. I see at least five "Who will win the WS?" questions everyday.

I've learned that some users on Y!A seem to be unaware that there is a "search" option at the top of the page for their persistant questions of "Who is the best player of all time?"

I've learned that after one great season (that isn't even over) the Rays are suddenly "America's Team."

I've learned that the people who post the question "Who is your favorite team?" must be wanting to construct a mindless poll 20 times a day.

  13. Yea. You learn that every team (even the Marlins) have fans. ;)

  14. This is gonna sound kinda mean but i havent really learned anything! I've met some cool people and talked to some cool people but other than that i havent learned much! Maybe a couple of stats and stories but nothing much other than that!

  15. So far I have learned...

    - Sometimes sarcastic answers to obvious questions are fun to read.

    - I love taking time to answer a well thought out question and share my knowledge

    - There are some very knowledgable and respectful people here in the Baseball Section

    - But there are also some mean dipsh*ts who should be banned (like the guy who makes fun of Ron Santo) and also the people who post up a lot of questions on the same subject JUST to annoy others.

*Overall the Baseball Section is a great thing to do in my spare time although it may have its bad sides (mainly the people I mentioned above)

  16. I learned...

...ppl don't know how to use cheat code websites (guy who asks mlb the show questions)

...ppl like to insult one another

...people know a lot about baseball and I am not the bigest fan

    ...a lot of stats

  17. I've learned that while there are a lot of intelligent baseball fans on here there are far more that are completely clueless.  Those clueless ones tend to think they're smarter then everyone else and I always seem to get a good laugh out of it.

  18. I agree. many knowledgeable people (too many to mention).

There are also too many people to mention who answer scoring or umpiring questions and have no clue what they're talking about.

When it comes to umpire/rules questions, Ryan is about as good as you can get.

For history, Chipmaker's about the best.

For common sense - Greta and Fozzy.

    For game scoring - well . . .

And, yes, the guy who's always picking on Santo should be banned for life - AFTER he's appropriately dealt with.

  19. I learned:

To stay away from questions that involve The Yankees, The Red Sox or Barry Bonds.

If I wanted a cut and paste answer from Wikipedia, I would have went to Wikipedia.

There are more Cubs fans now than 6 months ago.

I can get most of my baseball news faster by checking here than by logging into other sports sites / news sites.

Many, many users dont know how / dont care to use the search function before asking a question.

  20. Being a part of the baseball section has made me realize just how much I do know about baseball. But it has also taught me that there is so much more that I can learn. Quite a few users on here that have a much greater understanding of the game then I do.

I have also learned to just ignore people that say so and so team sucks. Nine out of ten times knowing the name of the team is as far as their baseball knowledge goes.

  21. I am amazed at the level of knowledge that many of t6he regular contributors have.  Certain guys seem to be fountains of trivia, able to quantify anything.

I learned that there are some intelligent Yankee fans, capable of carrying on a fair and balanced conversation, putting the game over either of our teams.

Then there are the idiots out there who seem to take delight just by hurling anonymous insults.

I have also learned that some people give nolan ryan way too much credit.

I enjoy the different perspectives and agendas that we all have.

  22. Aww chucks no need to put me out there LOL

I've learned that there are many cool people out there that are fans of teams that are struggling and still stick along side them (Example, Craig S and the Jays)

  23. Trolls Suck!
