Amy, you are right, Canada pays around $5.25 a gal USA and the ironic part of this is most of the oil that is produced in Canada is Shipped to America. Taxes kill the Canadians.

  1. I've sacrificed getting my drivers license, and a job. There is no where close for me to work. Anywhere you can work is far from my home, and to get there I'd need to drive. No use in having a job that takes a drive. I'll come out of it with nothing.

  2. Nothing really.  There hasn't been a big change in my lifestyle.

However, I definitely don't drive the way I did in the 80's when going for a long drive was more a matter of actually wanting to go than considering the price of gas.

  3. My hard fought for sanity

  4. not a thing.  i'm not going to complain one bit about the gas prices.  i have a friend that just moved back from canada.  she is THANKFUL for the gas prices here.  look at the prices in other countries.  american's are spoiled.  our poor live better than the better off in many other countries.  i'm just thankful for my freedoms.

  5. Running errands only once a week as opposed to 3x's.

No more fast food joints or junk food...water instead of soda, etc. etc.
