Question:

What have you used to replace carbohydrates?

I asked a food question because I burned up lunch and the place still smells.

  1. I've substituted healthier carbs for some others:  For example, we'll have edaname, peas, or legumes instead of corn, pasta or rice.   If we have something on a bun (i.e. hamburgers), then I consider that our carbs, and have fruit & veggies as sides.  I don't think it's that necessary to eliminate carbs altogether; just eat them in moderation.  So many people on YA seem to think that corn with potatoes, or mac & cheese with mashed potatoes is perfectly fine!  And, they're probably eating bread with their dinners too!

  3. I just read an article that suggests subbing veggies for the carbs. Pile veggies on top of veggies for an extra healthy meal.

  4. for breakfast: joghurt, fruit, nuts

    for lunch: lettuce, tuna, veggies, fish, chicken

    afternoon: dried fruits and nuts

    evening: veggies, fish, chicken,lettuce

    sometimes after gym: proteine shake

  6. Make fake mash potatoes.Boil some cauliflower until soft,then put it in a blender with butter,salt and pepper.When blended it tastes like mash potatoes.
