What healthy foods have a long shelf life ?

  1. dunno if you'd consider this healthy but honey is said never to expire, and can be used as a substitute for sugar in many cases.


  2. Pasta,tinned food,dried fruit? If you put fruit and veg in the fridge they usually stay good for up to 2wks  

  3. if it's got a shelf life then it's processed.

    so far to this date i've found no processed food to be healthy.


  4. Ryveta, rice cakes, crisp bread, all low calorie healthy and keep for ages

  5. Apples will stay a long time if you keep them in the fridge without getting bruised.

    no salt added canned veggies

    low sodium soup

    no sugar added canned fruit

    cottage cheese

    condiments

    If you store food properly, lots of fresh, uncooked veggies and other foods can last almost two weeks. Also cooking and freezing foods prolongs shelf life. Instead of buying frozen chicken breast, I buy it fresh and freeze what I don't use. It usually tastes much better than frozen!
