I just got my acoustic guitar. I've been playing for about 2 weeks for 25- 30 minutes every day. Anything to help the pain and when will it go away?

  1. I've heard that soaking your fingers in salt water may help, but I've never done that.  Don't practice immediately after taking a bath, or shower.  Your skin will be to soft, and do not apply any type of lotion that will soften the skin.  When it starts to hurt, just take a break, and avoid over doing it.  You don't want blisters.

  3. Just keep playing and in about 6 months or so, you will have a good set of callouses and won't feel the pain any longer

  4. i started guitar in first grade so i know what you mean it kills for probably 3 weeks to 1 month and a half! putting aloe lotion (or any other cream) on them  helped me! the more you play the faster they wil go away! good luck!
