What helps with achy/locking joints?

Why are they hurting so much?

What exercise will help it?

How can I strengthen them?

  1. Well for any exercise that would help, try doing anything that does not cause excess stress to the joints.  Try bike riding or water aerobics.  Anything in the water is much easier on your joints because the water helps to take a lot of the stress off of them.  Stay away from jogging/running because that will cause excess stress on your knees, hips and back.  I was even told that after I was diagnosed with back problems.  Walking may also help to keep them limber and strong.  Really anything that will help to strengthen the muscles around those joints will help.  If they become really bothersome, try alternating heat and maybe ice to help with any swelling around the joints.  If they are really bothersome, see your doctor.  They may be able to get  you in to see a physical therapist who will give you different exercises to help strengthen those specific muscles.  Your doctor may be able to find out what is causing your joints to hurt and lock up as well.
